This wine draws inspiration from three sources: from a powerful poem of Baudelaire's; from a wine a made with colleagues in New York (which, in turn, was modeled after Kongsgaard Chardonnay); and, most of all, but a solera red wine made by Nate Ready in Oregon. His brilliant wine gave me the courage to make a solera whit wine; we bottled the first edition, based mostly on 2015 wine last year. This year, the wine is 50% composed of the first edition, with additional wines form 2017 and 2018 added to the solera.
