This is our blended red wine, the companion to Lopez Blanc. The intention is to make a wine that represents the excellence of the old vine red vineyards in Cucamonga-- not just the Zinfandel of Lopez, but something in a way less specific. This wine is based on Lopez, as is appropriate-- the most substantial surviving vineyard in Cucamonga-- but it also has substantial elements of Hofer Grenache, and Galleano Mataro. The wine is lighter and more approachable than the Zin or the Mataro, but more powerful and complex than the Hofer.

It will age, but is meant for now. This year.
