We had a half-full barrel of the 2025 Foxen Canyon Chardonnay fermenting when the Ribolla came in at the end of harvest. It was an easy decision to make a single barrel cofermentation of the two. The wine is noble and dense, a pure cofermentation. We put half of it into the Castello blend, and kept half of it out to preserve and show off its purity and power.
The wine is more intense and gravelly than the normale. It is not clearly better, but it is definitely scarcer and more dear.
