Another beautiful wine, made from the 100 year-old vines on the Galleano Home Ranch that they call "Mataro."

We could not resist making a blanc de noir from the fruit and so we foot treaded and pressed a small amount of fruit, following the Chiara protocol. The juice was so dark from the black Alicante grapes, but also so fragrant-- even more so than the stem and berry fermentation! We made only 16 gallons of the wine in 2023, but we love it so much that we will make much more in 2024 if we can.

In some ways like a still Lambrusco-- but not the leathery kind, the dark cherry kind!
