We so love this wine!
This is our fourth vintage of this wine-- it is a little hard to say what it is.
This year, we brought together Lopez Palomino with various portions of all the Blanc de Noir wines that we made: Lopez Zin, Hofer Grenache, Galleano Mataro-- and a little Lone Wolf Blanc. The aim was to make something more fierce, more wild than any of the component wines on their own. None of the wines were skin-fermented, yet we wanted something of the power and wildness of skin-fermented white wine.
This wine is more dense and more serious than our Lopez Blanc, but not as civilized as Lone Wolf or as sophisticaed as the two Palomino Reserves. It is a different kind of reserve wine, perhaps on the Blondie side of Disco.
