We made a beautiful wine from this crazy vineyard in 2024-- actually two of them, but we have bottled only one yet.

This is a pale rosé from the white section of the vineyard, planted in 1905 to a dozen varieties. The "white section" is mostly Rose of Peru, a New World vinifera cross of Mission and Moscatel. The fruit is typically pink, fragrant, and oddly tannic. There could 10 more kinds of grapes in the vineyard, probably mostly Mission.

This is my favorite LA wine of 2024. Subtle, powerful, fragrant but not perfumey.
