We are taking the train to Marfa on our annual pilgrimage to help our friends Ricky and Katie prune their amazing West Texas vineyard.
Ricky and Katie grow grapes and make wine in Marfa and also run a wonderful wine bar, in town that is already the home of many wonders. They are hosting us for a very casual 12 Seats in the bar Wednesday night.
We are going to welcome 12 of Alta Marfa's patrons for an afternoon event at the wine bar for free. Let's just say we are really grateful to be welcomed even for a moment in this special place and we are happy to reciprocate by pouring a little wine, on us.
We will pour 3 or 4 Scholium Library bottles, and 2 or 3 LA River recent releases, and I will talk a little about the Force of Place. What I mean by this is how the place where you are growing grapes and making wine picks a path for you that is hard to resist. It's an obvious point, but still worth exploring with some good wines.
