A tasting? God no! A seminar? Hardly.
Raj and I thought of this series late one night at The Ten Bells in New York City. We inaugurated it together in London, with the help of dear friends. Now we bring it closer to home-- to Raj's home in Santa Barbara, and to Scholium's intended home on the banks of the Los Angeles River. We are collaborating with the Nomad's Wine Director, Ryan Bailey, to create something special in this historic venue with the perfect name and spirit to explore the domain of the Scythian.
We will drink very special wines together, a couple made by us, a few from Raj's cellar, and a few from the Nomad's vaults.
We will explore the notion not of terroir, but territory-- nomadism versus the settled life of the city dweller, the Clos versus the field, the metaphysics of wandering. 11 wines. Come strong.
