We worked very closely with our friend, colleague, and partner Raj Parr and his Scythian Wine Company this year-- we are sharing vineyards, a winery, and all of our work. Come Spring, when we bottle, there will be a fascinating opportunity to taste the wines made by two winemakers in the same winery from the same vineyards.
The drought continues to take its toll. We harvested even less fruit in 2022 than we did in 2021-- for that reason, we will make even less wine. We have lots of hope for 2023, but this year, can only offer about 500 cases of wine total. We will make 12 different wines this year. All of the wines are in vanishingly small quantities; the smallest is the Galleano Salvador and Palomino co-fermentation-- 16 gallons, sitting in a beautiful glass demi-john. We will offer only 50 bottles of this wine; for this reason, the 12-bottle selection will be limited to 50 packages.
For this selection of 6-bottles, I have chose wines that represent the excellence of our desert wines, but that are available in slightly higher quantities-- like 100 bottles! The "highest production" wine is the remarkable Lopez Golden Chasselas, at 125 cases.
We will offer 100 of the smaller, 6-bottle, selection.
